<b>BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:</b><br>Food technologists are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Offices (ROs) and Country Offices (COs), and report to a Head of supply chain. Job holder will have be assisting the FSQ officer in TRCO to finalize all actions required from FSQ unit timely and properly, with needed analytical skills and expertise, food tech should be able to provide necessary support to FSQ officer to take an informed decision. Applicants for this position should prove a high degree of responsibility and initiative to independently manage activities and respond to queries, in addition, they are expected to motivate and develop the team toward achieving set objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Achieve the objectives jointly with FSQ officer in TRCO by facilitating and provide technical support.
Duties and responsibilities are mainly working jointly with FSQ officer in Türkiye CO to:
Perform technical assessments jointly with FSQ officer, audits to potential and registered food suppliers/processors in accordance with WFP expectations (i.e. ISO 22000, ISO 9001).
Monitor activities and processes carried out by inspection companies and lab facilities contracted by WFP in accordance with signed contract including conducting surprise visits on site to ensure adherence with shared instructions.
Analyze compile data and technical reports received from WFP as well as inspection companies/lab facilities providing needed information for management to take informed decisions.
Support programs applied by WFP with cooperating partner by enhancing the technical capacity of CP to meet WFP expectations.
Contribute towards the development and/or implementation of protocols and tools relating to food technology issues, ensuring alignment with WFP procurement and supply chain strategy, policies, and plans.
Food tech should make sure that standards used by CO is aligned with relevant standards issued by local standardization agency.
Identify and build productive relationships with colleagues in other units in CO as well as staff within the area of assignment to support an integrated approach to food assistance.
Follow emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP can quickly respond and deploy food and needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.

<b>QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</b><br>Education:
University degree in Food Technology, Health Sciences, Food Control, Nutrition, agriculture or other related field
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Previous knowledge experience implementing HACCP systems and ISO 22000 basic requirements.
Excellent command of Microsoft office products most importantly (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINTS)
Strong interpersonal skills
Languages:
Fluency (level B) in English language
