UN City Copenhagen hosts 10 United Nations organizations that support development and humanitarian operations worldwide. From Copenhagen, resident agencies provide operational support to global programmes through procurement, supply chain management, partnerships, technical expertise, and programme support functions.
The work carried out from UN City Copenhagen contributes to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Communications function supports the visibility and understanding of the work carried out by the resident UN organizations and contributes to strengthening awareness of Copenhagen as an operational hub for the United Nations system.
The Communications Team is a part of UN City Common Services and coordinates digital communication, storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and communication related to the work of the UN globally and that of resident agencies including conferences and institutional initiatives hosted in UN City Copenhagen.
The Communications Associate - Content Creation is responsible for developing high-quality written, visual and multimedia communication products highlighting initiatives and activities carried out by UN organizations operating from Copenhagen. The role contributes to strengthening storytelling, audience engagement and visibility through compelling and targeted communication outputs.
S/he also supports production and dissemination of communication materials for events and meetings. The Communications Associate - Content Creation will also support coordination of communications related activities, implementation of communication strategy and engage across the UN entities in the UN City.
The role supports the use of data-informed communication practices and emerging technologies including AI to strengthen communication workflows and digital engagement.
1. Support Content Production
Develop and produce written and visual communication materials.
Produce feature stories, human interest content and impact narratives.
Produce and support coordination of communication activities related to campaigns, events, visits and institutional initiatives.
Ensure consistency with UN Communication standards.
2. Support Campaign and Outreach
Support planning and implementation of communication campaigns and outreach initiatives to Danish and Nordic audiences.
Contribute to communication products supporting stakeholder engagement and visibility.
Contribute to advance internal communication across UN City in Denmark.
Serve as liaison to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
3. Innovation and Emerging Technologies Support
Drive integration of digital tools and AI-enabled workflows.
Identify opportunities to enhance digital communication formats and processes.
4. Support day-to-day administration
Handle administrative matters relating to Communications team activities.
Support coordination within the team, with Common Services as well as UN agencies.
5. Support knowledge sharing
Make sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
The Communications Associate - Content Creation reports to the Communications Coordinator.

Education:
Secondary education is required. or
A university degree (Bachelor´s degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or any other related field of study will be given due consideration but is not a requirement.
Experience:
Minimum 6 years (with secondary education) or 3 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible experience in communications
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
Relevant experience in communications and advocacy, content creation will be an added advantage.
Experience managing content management systems such as WordPress, and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop or similar is an asset.
Experience in handling administrative tasks is an asset.
Experience working in an international organization is an asset.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is required.
Working knowledge of Danish is an asset
