Support the review and development of guidance and training material for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in emergency preparedness and response;
Support liaison with selected countries and organizations and the monitoring of actions related to the project, including the microgrants scheme to OPDs and local CCCM partners;
Support the logistical and administrative arrangements for the capacity building activities within the project, including the organization of a regional training;
Contribute to reporting exercises to donors and partners;
Contribute to developing key messages and talking points on disability inclusion for meetings, webinars and other events as required;
Support the development of communication, visibility and advocacy material when required;
Assist in efforts to develop collaboration with key project partners on inclusion – UN agencies, specialized NGOs, local and global Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and local CCCM partners;
Keep abreast of global discussions, evidence and best practices on disability inclusion in emergencies, and periodically share knowledge with team and inclusion networks at the field level; and
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Learning Objectives
Strengthen technical knowledge on disability inclusion in emergencies by supporting the development of guidance materials, training content, and key advocacy messages aligned with global standards and best practices. Enhance coordination and partnership skills through engagement with country operations, NGOs, and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), including support to monitoring project activities such as microgrants and field-level initiatives.
Develop operational and organizational support competencies by assisting in the planning and execution of capacity-building activities, including logistical and administrative arrangements for regional trainings.<br>Improve communication, reporting, and knowledge-sharing abilities by contributing to donor reports, preparing visibility materials, and synthesizing emerging evidence on disability inclusion for internal and external stakeholders.
Education
A completed advanced University degree from an accredited academic institution preferably in a field of study related to Migration or other relevant Social Sciences.<br>
Experience
Experience in liaising with representatives from different organizations and coordination.<br>
Skills
Proven and demonstrable interest in disability inclusion issues, understanding of protection principles and prevention and risk mitigation measures in humanitarian action;
Sound knowledge of humanitarian principles, minimum standards, and humanitarian coordination structure;
Outstanding drafting skills in English, proven ability to write clearly and effectively, adapting wording and style to the intended audience and scope of the document;
Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly; and
Demonstrates ability to plan and coordinate effectively to meet deadlines and commitments.
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish. All staff members are required to be fluent in one of the three languages.<br><br>For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).<br><br>Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.<br><br><strong>Required Competencies</strong>

Eligibility and Selection
In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:
a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM<br>programmes and activities;<br>b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations<br>and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies;<br>c) are sponsored by governmental/non-governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor;<br>d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme<br>(minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months; and,<br>e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.

Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by his/her university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.
IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the assignment. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
