The purpose of this consultancy is to provide specialized technical and coordination support to the Ministry of Health and UNICEF Uzbekistan in advancing priority nutrition activities in Uzbekistan.

QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES (CORE/TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL) / LANGUAGE SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ASSIGNMENT

Minimum Qualifications required*:

Health, Public Health, Nutrition

Master degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine, Health Policy or other relevant field.

Demonstrated experience in development, review or technical support of health and nutrition-related policies, strategies, guidelines, standards or regulatory frameworks.

Proven technical experience in breastfeeding promotion, protection and support programmes, including familiarity with BFHI and infant and young child feeding (IYCF) approaches.

Proven experience working with the Ministry of Health and other national stakeholders, with strong knowledge of the health system and regulatory environment of Uzbekistan, including preparation of analytical, technical and policy documents.

Experience in coordination of technical consultations, policy dialogue, research activities and multi-sectoral processes involving government and development partners.

Familiarity with WHO and UNICEF recommendations and international standards related to breastfeeding, nutrition policy, BFHI and public health.

Experience in digital health systems, monitoring frameworks or digitalization of health and nutrition indicators is strongly preferred.

Years of Experience/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required*:

Work Experience:

At least 15 years of progressively responsible professional experience in maternal, newborn and child health, nutrition, breastfeeding, public health or health systems strengthening.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in Uzbek and Russian is required; working knowledge of English is an asset.

Skills:

Excellent communication, coordination and analytical&nbsp;skills.

Desirables:

Experience in digital health systems, monitoring frameworks or digitalization of health and nutrition indicators is strongly preferred.
