The incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Support the AVRR team in the preparation and follow-up of counselling-related activities, including the collection and organization of relevant information and documentation and, under supervision, the registration and updating of case information in the relevant databases;
- Support the preparation and consolidation of programme documentation, statistics, data extracts, reports, briefing materials and other operational documents;
- Support the Movement Unit in preparing the documentation required for beneficiaries’ departure and provide logistical and administrative support for travel arrangements, including the organization and coordination of departures;
- Support the Reintegration Unit in preparing and organizing documentation related to reintegration assistance, updating relevant records, and compiling data and statistics related to reintegration activities;
- Provide administrative and operational support to the AVRR team, including participation in relevant meetings and the preparation of background or programme materials, as required;
- Perform any other duties as may be required.
Education
- Be currently enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent), or have graduated within the last 12 months.
- Academic background relevant to migration, social affairs, international cooperation, public administration or related areas would be considered an advantage.
Experience
- No previous professional experience is required.
- Previous internship, volunteering, academic or extracurricular experience related to migration, social inclusion, social services, community activities or similar fields would be considered an advantage.
- Any previous experience in providing administrative or organizational support would be an asset.
- Previous exposure to multicultural or international environments would be considered an advantage.
Skills
- Interest in migration field;
- Strong motivation to gain practical experience in an international and multicultural working environment.
- Ability to interact with beneficiaries in a professional, respectful and non-discriminatory manner.
- Availability to carry out both front-office and back-office activities, including administrative and project-monitoring tasks.
- Ability to work within established procedures and under the supervision of the relevant project staff.
- Availability to support different components of the AVRR programme, including counselling-related activities, movement operations and reintegration activities, according to operational needs.
Languages
For this internship, fluency in Italian and English, both oral and written is required.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.
IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
