Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
Organizational Context and Scope
IOM Ireland has been operating in Ireland since 2001, currently in following areas of migration management: Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration, Resettlement, Family Reunification, Counter-Trafficking, Protection, Integration Support to Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection, Integrated Immigration Governance and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).
IOM provides mental health and psychosocial support to international protection seekers residing in the Citywest accommodation facility with the aim to improve their psychosocial well-being and to strengthen their overall resilience.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Ireland, the Head of the MHPSS Unit and in direct supervision of Senior Training Associate, the incumbent will be accountable and responsible for the delivery of Trauma-Informed Practice training (Supportive Spaces initiative) to accommodation centre staff and other personnel working with International Protection Applicants.
- Support the implementation of the Supportive Spaces training plan and prepare for the delivery of training sessions in line with the approved curriculum and materials.
- Deliver Supportive Spaces training sessions to designated participants in accordance with the approved training methodology and materials.
- Collect participant feedback and evaluation data to measure learning outcomes, participant satisfaction, and training effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance registers, evaluation results, and other required programme documentation in accordance with project requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly activity reports by providing accurate training statistics, participant data, and narrative updates as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Irish international protection system, relevant safeguarding principles, and current policies, standards, and best practices relating to the support and inclusion of International Protection Applicants.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Training Associate.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Development, Psychology, Political or Social Sciences, Law, International Relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum three years of relevant professional experience. OR
- High School degree with five years of relevant professional experience
Experience
- Proven experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating training programmes, including delivery of sensitive or trauma-informed content.
- Demonstrated experience providing psychosocial support, safeguarding, or wellbeing-focused services to refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, or other vulnerable populations.
- Experience collaborating with statutory, community, and non-governmental organisations in Ireland; existing knowledge of the refugee protection and integration landscape is desirable.
- Strong understanding of international protection, displacement, integration, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice, with the ability to apply relevant standards and best practices in training delivery.
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment is an advantage.

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
