TERMS OF REFERENCE

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide operational communication and visibility support to UNICEF Kazakhstan to mobilize private sector resources, strengthen corporate partnerships, and enhance visibility of fundraising initiatives, including UNICEF’s 80th Anniversary event series.

Under the supervision and guidance of the Communication Specialist the consultant will lead communication for private sector fundraising and partnerships, ensuring effective positioning of UNICEF as a trusted partner for business, and supporting revenue-generating campaigns, including customer fundraising campaigns. The consultant will also support communication efforts within UNICEF’s partnerships with sports organizations, including Freedom QJ League, the National Olympic Committee, and key marathon events, ensuring strong visibility, public engagement, and alignment with UNICEF’s advocacy and fundraising objectives.
The assignment will contribute to:

• Increased private sector engagement and fundraising income

• Strengthened visibility and recognition of partners

• High-quality communication for fundraising events and campaigns

  • Increased media coverage and public awareness

Education

Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing and other relevant fields.

Work experience

At least 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in marketing, public relations or related fields, including experience in campaigns, partnerships, or public engagement initiatives.

Experience in developing and implementing communication activities and campaigns, including digital and multi-platform communication.

Experience in media relations, including drafting press materials, coordinating media engagement, and supporting media coverage.

Experience in working with partners, including private sector or external stakeholders, is an asset

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills

Strong skills in content creation, including copywriting and development of multimedia content (photo, video, digital).

Language Requirements

Fluency in written and spoken English, Kazakh and Russian is required.
