Organizational Context and Scope

IOM promotes the orderly and humane management of migration, advances international cooperation on migration issues, supports practical solutions to emerging challenges, and provides humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including internally displaced persons.
- Draft content for IOM Venezuela’s social media and web platforms, and monitor activity across accounts (IOM Venezuela website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
- Draft and disseminate public information on IOM Venezuela programmes and activities, using diverse mediums including capturing and editing high quality photos and videos.
- Assist in the establishment of a monitoring system for tracking visibility of IOM Venezuela activities and interventions.
- Establish a standardized system for multilingual social media posts, synthesizing the results of analytics, assessing audience engagement.
- Follow social media trends and propose innovative ways to showcase IOM’s work across all platforms.
- Assist to translate social media and website posts to access a wider audience in the country and in the region.
- Assist to create banners, posters, project info sheets and other visuals for social media using professional graphic design programmes, in line with IOM brand guidelines and donor visibility requirements.
- Prepare media monitoring reports on the issues relevant for IOM Venezuela’s scope of work and expertise, including, but not limited to, the daily migration news digest.
- Assist with operational communication by responding to beneficiaries/followers’ requests in social media messengers and suggesting proactive outreach ideas.
- Update and maintain IOM’s internal communications knowledge management system, including media contact lists, content calendars, and archive of IOM’s visibility materials.
- Draft the design of and consolidate internal and external communications content contributing to activity reports, press releases, newsletters and other visibility materials.
- Support the organization of events, conferences, and workshops, through the use of professional audio and video equipment.
Education
- High school diploma/certificate with at least five years of relevant work experience, or,
Experience
- Experience with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X formerly Twitter, LinkedIn, and other online platforms in a professional setting.
- Experience in capturing high quality photographs and videos, and editing using appropriate software.
- Experience in digital and print content production, including audio-visual production, graphic design, photography, video editing and social media management.
- Experience with social media analytics and how to optimize posts for maximum impact is desirable.
- Experience working in multi- cultural setting is advantage.
- Knowledge of the work of international organizations, humanitarian and development context is an advantage.
Skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
- Confident use of professional photo and video equipment, graphic design programmes (Adobe Suite: Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign and publishing softwares such as Publisher).
- High level of computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task, multi-deadline and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, setting goals and timelines.
- Familiarity with Venezuela, Americas region is an advantage.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency Spanish and English required (oral and written)
