How can you make a difference?
UNICEF works towards the realization of the rights of every child as enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Under UNICEF's Strategic Plan 2026-2029, Impact Goal 5 aims to ensure that 500 million children are better protected from disasters and climate and environmental risks.
The Climate Partnerships team within the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) is working to leverage the partnerships, resources and financing mechanisms required to mobilize significantly greater investment for children within the climate finance ecosystem. This includes strengthening UNICEF's positioning in climate finance, developing compelling value propositions and financing models, building relationships with key financial partners, public and private sector donors, translating strategic engagement into funding opportunities, and positioning UNICEF and its partners across UNFCCC processes, COPs and other influential global platforms.
The climate finance landscape is increasingly competitive, and access to capital depends on strong partnerships, credible investment propositions and purposeful engagement with key stakeholders. This temporary consultancy will provide additional capacity, not available through existing staff, to support defined internal coordination and collaboration across the climate partnerships network, events coordination, knowledge-management, partner-engagement and communications outputs linked to priority climate partnerships initiatives and events.
