How can you make a difference?

The Contracts Officer reports to the Contracts Specialist (P-3) / Chief of Supply and Logistics for supervision and guidance and provides technical and operational support as per the Country Office set-up, in support of the Ebola emergency response. While the overall responsibilities of the Contracts Officer include planning, procurement of goods and contracting of services, the focus of the incumbent is contract management – including sourcing, contracting and contract administration of the services required for the response. The incumbent supports collaboration with programmes in defining supply and contracting interventions to meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children, and provides technical and advisory support to government, national systems and partners on supply chain and contracts management.

Minimum requirements

Education: A university degree is required in Business Administration, Management, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Contract/Commercial Law, Economics or a related field.
Work Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience, at the national and/or international levels, in procurement and contracting is required.

Desirables

  • Experience in procurement/contracting for high-value, high-risk and complex services is an advantage.
  • Experience in the SAP Materials Management module, and in analytical work and negotiations, is an advantage.
  • Understanding of development and humanitarian work; emergency experience an advantage.
  • Experience gained in a humanitarian, emergency, or public-health-emergency setting.
