Donor Engagement and Resources Mobilisation Intern

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Donor Relations officer, Global Outreach Team the Intern will be performing the following tasks

Support bilateral and multilateral meeting preparations including drafting briefing notes, support organization of donor field visits including organizing briefings with departmental interlocuters

Draft political analysis and donor engagement strategies in alignment with the team annual workplan - draft analysis of key bilateral and multilateral donors with a focus on available funding mechanisms such as specialized funds, thematic windows and regular calls for proposals

Support coordination for proposal development with implementing Departments and Field Operations on key issues including neutrality, gender and protection, livelihoods and peacebuilding

Maintain updated donor engagement dashboards, analyse ODA data sources, and aid flows for key UNRWA sectors and identify key donors for sectors such as education, health, protection and crosscutting these like youth, resilience, and stabilization, gender, disability inclusion and others as relevant.

Draft and update donor factsheets and sector opportunities for field o􀆯ices in relation to upcoming funding opportunities with analysis of key donor priorities and potential entry points

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must be students enrolled in, or have recently completed (i.e. commence internship within one year of graduation date), either a graduate school programme (i.e. second university degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent), with major area of study in Business Management, Communication, Marketing, International Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences, or another relevant field is required.

Languages

Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Arabic a plus.

Additional Information

Skills

Strong analytical skills in international relations, regional dynamics donor aidflows, and political priorities.

Demonstrated ability to capture and communicate condensed data, analysis and information in easy to understand, and visual ways

Service-minded and collaborative in response to internal and external stakeholder requests including ability to cooperate internally with relevant colleagues

Knowledge of project management and the project lifecycle is advantageous

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
