Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes in IOM Philippines, the technical supervision of the National Emergency and Preparedness Officer in Manila and administrative supervision of the National Project Officer in Legazpi, the successful candidate will provide technical support to the implementation of the Operational Foresight and Supporting Local Preparedness in the Context of Climate Displacement.
- Support team in implementing the activities under the Risk Index for Climate Displacement and Climate Catalytic Fund, including stakeholder and community engagement, service monitoring, and data collection.
- Contribute to preparing communication letters, field reports, attendance sheets, and other documentation.
- Provide logistical support during field missions, trainings, and coordination meetings.
- Maintain, monitor, and organize project database, files, tools, and records to ensure accurate documentation of project activities.
- Coordinate with community members and local stakeholders to help facilitate field activities.
- Support emergency response teams during disaster response.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.
Education
- High School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
Experience
- Experience in supporting field activities such as assessments, distributions, community consultations, or service monitoring.
- Experience in working with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable groups.
Skills
- Knowledge of humanitarian operations, cluster systems, and response standards.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English and Filipino is required (oral and written).
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
