Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Regional Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Project Team Lead (Employability and Education), the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Support labour market integration through individual and group career counselling sessions.
- Participate in the mapping of potential employers and identify job vacancies.
- Participate in identifying opportunities and areas of employment to cultivate collaborations with private sector entities to enhance the employability of the beneficiaries.
Connect the beneficiaries with job opportunities.
- Participate in the organization of workshops, seminars, and other events related to employability, focusing on the beneficiaries' access to the labor market.
- Advise the beneficiaries regarding additional documentation, such as driving licenses, preparatory courses, language certificates, official translation of documents etc., required to increase their employment potentials and collect relevant documents for submission for reimbursement.
- Ensure accurate data entry and quality physical archiving of Means of Verification.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education
- University degree and/or higher in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Law, Education and Lifelong Education, Economics or any other related field with minimum three years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Previous work experience in a similar role;
- Possess adequate combination of knowledge, education, training experience and skills to performessential functions of the position;
Skills
- Computer literacy in standard software applications;
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
