Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Resource Management and under the direct supervision of the Information Management and Technology Officer, the ICT Associate Roving will provide overall assistance and daily technical and ICT support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure of the mission. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the ICT infrastructure of IOM South Sudan together with its sub-offices and be competent in the technical aspect of ICT infrastructure, troubleshooting, and user orientation.
- Serve as the ICT roving staff for sub-offices, with the flexibility to have temporary duty assignment to other sub-offices when required or to address support gaps.
Address all support and security issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- Provide technical support, assessment, recommendation in a basic network environment based on Cisco Meraki and Microsoft infrastructure for the whole Mission.
Assist in resolving technical issues, including in a hybrid cloud environment and escalate complex problems.
- Support and assist users using Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, Intune, Azure and the Organization’s corporate applications such as Wave, PRIMA, etc.
- Verify all computers and devices are updated regularly to comply with ICT security standards and inform the supervisor of detected inconsistencies.
- Ensure office compliance with ICT security policy and procedures.
- Assist on maintain all network LAN/WAN equipment for the office (including but not limited to Cisco / Meraki Firewall, Switches, and Access points)
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring network connectivity of the offices, reporting issues and implementing corrective action. Verify that the connectivity (Cloud services and internet) is up and running with minimal downtime.
Support the administration of account lifecycle using InfoSec portal and Identity Access Management.
- Adhere to IOM Global ICT standard, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide training to users in using corporate and standard applications, security awareness and new applications being implemented by the Mission/Organization.
Prepare reports and other documentation and provide technical inputs for SOPs when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant experience, or
Completed High School Degree with five years of professional experience in the above field.
Experience
- Experience and wide-ranging knowledge in the ICT support and infrastructure.
- Administration, implementation of ICT Infrastructure solutions in a multi-site environment, including implementation and support of medium to large-scale WAN/LAN technologies, and on-premises and/or cloud-based servers, resources, and applications.
- Support and troubleshooting of ICT equipment hardware and software, including corporate and commercial applications from multiple platforms and operating systems.
- Experience in Identity Access Management (IAM) is an advantage.
- Experience in networking, firewall, router, switch, Virtual Private Networking (VPN), network security, and other telecommunications technologies.
- Windows server platforms, where an understanding of Active Directory domain environment.
Experience in working in an international organization.
Skills
- Relevant technical knowledge related to the daily operation and troubleshooting of WAN/LAN network equipment, devices and services, to ensure corporate connectivity, monitoring and highest uptime.
- Effective resource management skills, strategic and creative thinking.
- Strong proficiency with end-user-level Microsoft Office 365 application and collaboration tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and strong organizational skills.
- Effective problem-solving approach, ability to work in a cross-divisional team and ability to quickly understand IOM business processes.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of Arabic.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
