Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance and supervision of the acting Head of External Relations Service and Senior Donor Relations Officer, Global Outreach Team, the Intern will be performing the following tasks: External Relations Services

Support the External Relations Service team in day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on data management, analysis, and presentation using Excel and PowerPoint.

Assist in preparing financial overviews, reports, and donor-related presentations, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and visual quality.

Contribute to donor analysis efforts, including consolidation and interpretation of funding data to support strategic decision-making.

Work closely with the Contributions Unit and Projects Unit, supporting overall grant management processes, including tracking, reporting, and internal coordination.

Assist in the preparation and review of financial and narrative donor reports, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and internal standards.

Support the optimization of internal workflows, tools, and templates, contributing to improving efficiency in donor tracking, reporting, and coordination.

Provide flexible support across ERS functions and be ready to take on tasks assigned by the Head of ERS as priorities evolve. Donors and Partnerships

Support the maintenance of the UNRWA Partnership Digest and donor-related datasets.

Assist in updating donor factsheets and sector analysis templates, including basic research on donor priorities and funding trends.

Contribute to donor analysis and ODA data review, consolidating findings into clear Excel and PowerPoint outputs.

Provide support to proposal development and programme documents, including formatting and initial quality checks.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must be students enrolled in, or have recently completed (i.e. commence internship within one year of graduation date), either a graduate school programme (i.e. second university degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent), with major area of study in Business Management, International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Journalism, Communications, Social Sciences, or another relevant field is required.

Languages

Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Arabic is an asset.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
