Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
- Timely delivery and quality of technical outputs;
- Effective supervision and monitoring of reconstruction activities;
- Compliance of works with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards;
- Timely submission of progress and technical reports;
- Accuracy and completeness of project documentation;
Effective coordination with contractors, communities, and government counterparts;
- Successful completion and handover of assigned projects; and
- ·Adherence to IOM policies, procedures, and code of conduct requirements.
Education
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
- University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience in practical construction or engineering field;
- Certification as a licensed professional Engineer is mandatory;
Certification as a licensed professional Quality Control/Quality Assurance Engineer is required.
Experience
Experience in the field of construction engineering and contract management;
Experience in design, planning and implementation of civil design projects
- Experience with working in remote, hardship and/or rustic locations for longer periods of time (1-2 weeks)
- ·Ability to tolerate traveling on short or long-distance boat travel (1-2 days travel) on small and medium-sized vessels
- Experience working with a non-governmental organization and/or international organization an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD;
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards and best practices related to project
Travel required
- Travel is required project sites including Chuuk lagoon, and outer islands
