UNICEF Philippines supports the Department of Health (DOH) and sub-national level health authorities in improving immunization coverage through technical assistance in improving the policy environment, micro-planning, supply chain management and demand generation. In this context, the Immunization Officer – will be accountable for professional technical contribution to project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration of immunization programme/project activities, including data analysis, programme support, delivery, progress reporting, and commitment for expansion of immunization coverage, as well as enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of the achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country programme goals, objectives and strategy.
You will work under the supervision of the Immunization Specialist and will work closely with the other members of the child health team to support implementation of key interventions under 9th Country Programme. You will also work with the SBC and T4D teams of the PCO, World Health Organization (WHO) and other partners, on the operationalization of strategies and innovations for better immunization outcomes.

Minimum requirements
Desirables
- Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- A postgraduate degree in Public Health and a medical doctor, Experience in health program/project development in a UN system agency or organization, Experience working at the national and local level on immunization programming; Good understanding of the Philippine Health Care delivery system and the role of DOH and LGUs in the implementation of the National Immunization Program; Experience working on health systems strengthening approaches; Experience on SBC processes, advocacy & policy development; Ability to do risk assessment and adopt mitigation measures; UN or UNICEF experience on health related programming are assets.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Appointments are conditional on the selected candidates’ willingness to comply with current or future vaccination requirements, should UNICEF mandate it for personnel. Failure to comply with such requirements, where applicable and without a duly approved medical exemption from the relevant UN authority, will result in the cancellation of the selection or may lead to other administrative measures, including separation from service.

Visa residence requirements: i.e. UNICEF shall not facilitate the issuance of a visa and working authorization for candidates under consideration for positions at the national officer and general service category.
