Haiti is experiencing a complex and protracted humanitarian crisis, characterized by widespread insecurity, forced displacement, the progressive breakdown of essential services, and deteriorating living conditions. According to the 2026 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP), over 6 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, with total funding requirements estimated at USD 684 million.
Children, women, internally displaced persons, and host communities are particularly affected, facing heightened risks of disease outbreaks, including cholera, reduced access to safe water, sanitation, and education, and increased protection concerns. Internal displacement continues to rise, with 1.45 million people currently displaced, while national and institutional capacities remain significantly weakened by ongoing political, economic, and security instability.
In Haiti, the WASH Cluster has not been formally activated and functions as a sector aligned with cluster coordination principles, under the leadership of DINEPA with UNICEF as co‑lead. The Education Cluster, which is formally activated, is led by the Ministry of Education and co‑led by UNICEF.
To strengthen these functions, UNICEF is reinforcing the information management capacities of both clusters.
How can you make a difference?
As the Information Management Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening evidence-based humanitarian coordination and decision-making across the WASH and Education Clusters. By managing, analyzing and disseminating critical information, you will support partners and stakeholders in identifying needs, prioritizing interventions and monitoring response efforts. Working closely with the WASH Cluster Coordinator, the Education Cluster Coordinator and the Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, you will help ensure the availability of high-quality data and information products that enhance coordination, accountability and the effectiveness of humanitarian action for children and vulnerable communities in Haiti.
This position is advertised for a limited contract duration of 3 months.
Key functions and responsibilities
Minimum requirements
Proven experience in designing and delivering capacity-building programmes for national staff or junior professionals in information management is required.
Relevant work experience in humanitarian context is required.
Extensive work experience outside of the humanitarian sector, which is relevant to this position, may be considered as a replacement for humanitarian experience.
Strong analytical thinking and understanding of different types of indicators (baseline and output especially) is required.
Good understanding of WASH interventions in humanitarian contexts, public health emergencies and role of each actor is required.
Good understanding of humanitarian approach, humanitarian reform, transformative agenda and roles of each actor (Government, UNOCHA, Clusters, organizations) is essential.
Basic understanding of Clusters in emergencies to be able to engage with cluster participants, understand their information management-specific needs and respond to those needs in a timely manner is required.
Ability to build trust, maintain effective working relations, share ideas through information management networks and promote synergies with other clusters with a respect for diversity is required.
Excellent diplomatic skills and the ability to establish excellent working relations with partners to collect information are required.
Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time while maintaining quality, performing well under pressure including within team setting is required.
Excellent communication skills, including speaking and writing efficiently to transfer key messages to different audiences is required.
Desirables
- Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian) or Haitian Creole is a desirable
- Experience working in the humanitarian coordination system and WASH cluster is considered an asset.
- Completed formal training in WASH/Education Cluster/ Sector/ Working Group Information Management, Cluster information management is considered as asset.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.

Eligible staff members on fixed-term, continuing or permanent contracts applying to IP TA positions in a duty station designated as L2/L3, may be able to retain a lien and their fixed-term entitlements, subject to approval by their Head of Office. The conditions of the temporary assignment will vary depending on the status of their post and relocation entitlements may be limited as per the relevant policies.
