TERMS OF REFERENCE
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide strategic communications and visibility support to UNICEF Türkiye in preparation for and during COP31, ensuring that children’s rights and youth participation are effectively positioned within the climate agenda.
Education
- Advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Environmental Communications, Marketing or another relevant field.
- A first university degree with additional relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in strategic communications, public advocacy, media relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in developing communications strategies for major international events, global advocacy initiatives, or high-level campaigns.
- Proven experience in preparing high-level advocacy and communications materials for senior leadership.
- Experience working remotely with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills
- Strategic communications planning and implementation.
Advocacy communications and executive messaging.
Media strategy and stakeholder engagement.
Storytelling and creative narrative development.
Editorial planning, review and quality assurance.
Strong writing, drafting and editing skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality outputs independently within tight deadlines.
- Strong coordination, planning and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) with excellent drafting and editing skills.
Desirables
- Experience supporting United Nations organizations or other international organizations.
- Experience in climate change communications, sustainable development and/or environmental advocacy.
- Familiarity with UNICEF communications standards, branding and visibility guidelines.
