Education
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced university degree in international development, international relations, political science, social sciences, public policy, public administration, economics, communications, development studies, or another relevant technical field. A first university degree in a relevant field combined with additional qualifying professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree in accordance with UNICEF requirements.
Work Experience
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme management/coordination, programme reporting, humanitarian programming, strategic analysis or a closely related area
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality analytical writing, programme reports and senior-level briefing materials.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical inputs from multiple programme areas into concise, decision-oriented products.
- Experience analysing programme funding, expenditure trends, funding gaps and resource requirements is an asset.
- Experience supporting cross-sectoral programme processes and strategic-partnership work is an asset.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong asset; another official UN language is an advantage.
Desirables
- Experience in humanitarian response and/or complex emergency contexts.
- Experience with UNICEF, another UN agency or an international humanitarian/development organization.
- Experience with IFIs, UN entities or other international partners
