Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.

Organizational Context and Scope

In close collaboration with national and local authorities and experienced Partners, in the context of the project 'Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' in the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace" with MIS Code 6018663 under the Programme "East Macedonia and Thrace 2021–2027", IOM aims at promoting the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into the Greek society through activities for employability support, the provision of Greek language courses and vocational training, the support for independent living, including rental subsidies, activities promoting social cohesion and inclusion.

Under the overall supervision of the Regional Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Project Assistant (Operations), the successful candidate will provide support in implementing project activities through provision of interpretation and/or translation services.

Make the initial contact with beneficiaries and build an open relationship of respect and trust with them.

Assist with interpretation and cultural mediation.

Reply to the calls received in the project’s helpline according to the guidelines received, identify new issues raised and report them to the Project Assistant (Operations), record the calls in the helpline tracker.

Develop and maintain good relations with the beneficiaries, relevant stakeholders, and other humanitarian actors to support adequate implementation and coordination of project activities.

Identify gaps and barriers prohibiting beneficiaries from accessing the full range of services available to them.

Translate documents and information materials to be disseminated to project beneficiaries.

Assist in mediation activities in close cooperation with IOM staff in an objective and impartial way.

Provide general assistance to other project staff. during project activities in the HELIOS&amp;#43; Centers, the Reception Facilities and elsewhere, as required.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
