Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager Protection and the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Associate, Migrant Protection – Direct Assistance, the successful candidate will provide general assistance to victims of trafficking, vulnerable migrants and those migrants who are vulnerable to trafficking. The Migrant Protection Assistant is expected to carry out his/her duties in accordance with strictest moral and ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural differences of the victims.
- Carry out interviews with potential victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants for recording general information.
- Coordinate the assistance provided to each of the beneficiaries.
- Prepare case management reports for each beneficiary in regular basis.
- Ensure appropriate data management of beneficiaries, including entering data into IOM databases on assistance and proper filing.
- Prepare statistics, reports and analysis as requested.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all beneficiaries.
- Assist in organizing trainings on victims’ identification and assisted voluntary return and reintegration.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Education
related field work from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
Experience
- Experience in working with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with international organizations.
Skills
- Strong Communication skills is essential.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Word, Outlook, Access and good typing skills in English and Arabic.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English & Arabic is required (oral and written).
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
