Project Context and Scope
IOM’s regional project “Improving migration governance and access to services for displaced Afghans in Pakistan and Central Asia” aims to provide comprehensive support to Afghan nationals residing in Turkmenistan, as well as to local communities, with a particular focus on women and girls, to promote long-term and sustainable development at the local level. One of the project components focuses on the socio-economic empowerment of women and girls from Afghan and local communities through the development of vocational skills, support for employment and self-employment, and strengthened engagement with local authorities and local public associations.
Within the framework of the project, and with the support of national partners, vocational sewing courses were organized for women from Afghan and local communities from Ahal, Lebap and Mary velayats, hosted by vocational schools. The training enabled participants to acquire practical skills, strengthen their confidence and create prerequisites for future income-generating activities. To showcase the results of the training, promote participants’ products and facilitate contacts with potential partners, employers and customers, a crafts fair and coordination meeting are planned with the participation of women beneficiaries, representatives of local authorities, the business community and other stakeholders.
In view of the need to ensure high-quality preparation, effective coordination of participants and seamless implementation of the event, IOM is engaging a national consultant to provide organizational and logistical support for the crafts fair and coordination meeting.

Tasks to be performed under this contract
Education
- Secondary vocational education or higher education.
Experience
- At least five years of experience in organizing events, exhibitions, fairs, forums, trainings, coordination meetings or similar activities.
- Experience in logistics coordination, venue preparation, liaison with service providers and quality control of services provided.
Skills
- Strong organizational, communication, coordination and reporting skills.
Languages
- Fluency in Russian and Turkmen; knowledge of English will be an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
