Purpose of the internship

Under the supervision of the Supply and Logistics Officer, the Logistics Clerk -UN 2720 will be responsible for completion of the following deliverables:
- Receive, review and complete the documentation needed for creation of donation approval requests in the UN 2720 system. Take necessary actions for creation of the submissions in the UN2720 system and liaise with the requesters with UN 2720 focal points until receiving the final donation approval.
- Take necessary actions for creation of new submissions in the COGAT – Mercury System and liaise with the requesters and UN 2720 focal points until receiving the final donation approval.
- Monitor the status of submissions in the UN 2720 system and COGAT’s MATBASH and Mercury system, follow-up with requesters to complete the missing documents and address the queries raised by UN 2720 team and COGAT.
- Take necessary actions for creation of new submissions in the Ministry of Environment database as and when required. Liaise with the requesters, UN 2720 focal points until receiving the Environment approval.
- Insert and update all transactions in the supply and Logistics Tracking database and support establishment of KPIs and performance monitoring mechanisms.
- Inform the requesters of the submission status, download the QR codes from the UN 2720 system and share with the relevant team members to continue with the pre-clearance process.
- Contribute to preparation of reports on approved, pending and rejected submissions for advocacy purposes.
- Support in back stopping other team members when on leave or coping with high workloads.

Qualifications
- Be enrolled in an advanced/undergraduate university degree in a relevant background; Supply Management/Contracting/Logistics, Administration and any other related field.
- Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
- Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to.
- Demonstrates ability to organize documentation and files for transaction with high volumes and time pressure.
- Demonstrate ability to operate computerized requests and approvals systems.
- Excellent English language capacity, both oral and written, is required.
- Maintains good relationships with all stakeholders.
- Focuses on impact and result and responds positively to feedback.
- Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
