The National Project Development and Reporting officer will provide direct support to the Chief of Mission and the EHSA IOM Regional Office, above all in defining the strategy of the Country Offices (Mauritius and Seychelles), programme development, programme management, reporting and liaising with key stakeholders, including the United Nations agencies in Mauritius & Seychelles and other development partners.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in international relations, International Development, Political or Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or,
- University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in supporting results-based project development and reporting, technical writing and editing, preferably in the international development/humanitarian sector; and,
- Experience in programme conceptualisation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation;
- Experience in project development and capacity-building activities;
- Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with national and international institutions;
- Familiarity with financial and business administration;
- Proven understanding of internal and international migration issues in the country and in the Region;
- Experience in organizing consultations, workshops and seminars with stakeholders;
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging and diverse environment
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision and with tight deadlines;
- Have affinity with or interest in migration issues, volunteerism as a mechanism for sustainable development, and the UN System.
