The Nutrition Specialist (P-3 TA) will be based in UNICEF’s Gaza Field Office and report to the Nutrition Manager, Gaza. The position will provide technical, programmatic and operational support for UNICEF’s nutrition response in Gaza, supporting lifesaving and recovery interventions for children, adolescents, pregnant and breastfeeding women affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. Working closely with government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs, Nutrition Cluster partners and health facilities, the Specialist will oversee implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of nutrition programmes, with a particular focus on emergency nutrition response, NICU and neonatal nutrition, adolescent nutrition, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and Community Feedback Mechanisms (CFM), H& N extenders workforce management, and strengthening nutrition information systems and decision-making through Power BI and data analytics. The post requires a high degree of technical expertise, coordination and autonomy to ensure effective programme delivery, partner management, evidence generation and donor accountability in a highly complex and rapidly evolving emergency context.

Minimum requirements
Desirables
- Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish), preferably Arabic, is an asset.
- Experience supporting health facility and NICU nutrition programming is an asset.
- Experience in adolescent nutrition programming is highly desirable.
- Experience in AAP, community engagement and feedback systems is desirable.
- Experience using Power BI and nutrition information management systems is strongly desirable.
Previous UNICEF or UN experience is an asset.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Failure to comply with such requirements, where applicable and without a duly approved medical exemption from the relevant UN authority, will result in the cancellation of the selection or may lead to other administrative measures, including separation from service.
