Duties and Responsibilities
UNESCAP is hosting UN Secretariat’s Enterprise Application Center
Bangkok whose purpose is to develop and support a wide array of in-house enterprise applications with Oracle and MS-SQL databases back-end. These databases require constant monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and software maintenance in order to provide the highest performance and stability required for corporate systems. The consultant will bring external experience in Oracle and MS-SQL databases administration, troubleshooting, and optimization to help build the capacity of the UN Secretariat team. The consultant is expected to carry out the following responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise for Oracle and MS SQL database servers.
Develop performance tuning and maintenance plan for Oracle and MS-SQL database enterprise applications.
Provide end-to-end PeopleSoft administration and support, including installation, maintenance, and go-live activities
Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and environment refreshes.
Manage and support existing customizations across PeopleSoft environments.
Conduct performance tuning, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Provide on-call production support and ensure system stability and availability.
Support integrations and collaborate closely with development teams.
Deliver expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for technical issues.
Advise application developers on resolving upgrade-related and technical challenges.
Demonstrate strong expertise in SQL tuning, data conversion, and Integration Broker.
Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts and Windows scripts for automation and administration tasks.
Manage virtual machines, Windows servers, and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Plan, coordinate, and support PUM (PeopleSoft Update Manager) upgrades.
Manage PeopleTools patching and PeopleTools upgrades.
Manage and support DR testing.
Qualifications/special skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field in Information Technology. Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience as a PeopleSoft Administrator

Candidate should have an excellent command of the English language; strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written outputs.
