Under the close supervision and guidance of the People and Culture Officer the People and Culture Associate (Onboarding), GS6 manages complex administrative and transactional tasks to the efficient implementation of a broad range of Human Resources functions for all categories of staff in the office, ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.
Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks
- Ensure all HR processes are administered accurately, in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Review and approve complex and high financial value HR transactions to ensure they meet policy standards and requirements.
- Ensure all HR processes are completed within the specified Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and timelines
- Identify areas for enhancing efficiency and continuous improvement and knowledge management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Minimum requirements
Experience: A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience required. A completed Bachelor's degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace three (3) years of related experience. A Master's degree may replace an additional two (2) years.
Desirables
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- University level courses in human resources and business administration are desirable.
- Previous hands-on experience in planning, organizing and delivering administrative support services is highly desirable.
- Work experience with a development organization is an asset.
- Knowledge of UN/UNICEF'S rules, regulations and procedures is considered an asset.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Failure to comply with such requirements, where applicable and without a duly approved medical exemption from the relevant UN authority, will result in the cancellation of the selection or may lead to other administrative measures, including separation from service

Government employees who are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government positions before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
