Organizational Context and Scope
Under the general supervision of the Director, Coordination Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission in Italy and Malta, the coordination of the Senior Programme Associate (Migration) and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the project Training, Assistance and Territorial Support for the Efficiency of Assisted Voluntary Returns.
Successful candidates will be deployed to the following Italian Regions: Lombardia and Sicilia.
- Assist the Project Manager in the day-to-day implementation and follow-up of project activities related to AVRR counselling services, including providing operational support to AVRR staff deployed across the national territory;
- Assist the Project Manager in organizing meetings and trainings sessions for local stakeholders aimed at promoting and disseminating AVRR option and support coordination with local actors and institutional stakeholder involved in AVRR procedure and counselling activities;
- Support the collection, verification and organization of data and information related to counselling activities and the profiles of AVRR beneficiaries, and assist in maintaining and regularly updating project files, databases and monitoring tools;
- Assist in the preparation of narrative and statistical reports, briefing notes, presentations and other project documentation;
- Support the dissemination and operational use of project tools, guidance materials and AVRR training resources;
Contribute to verifying compliance with IOM procedures/guidelines, project requirements and reporting obligations;
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Education
- University degree in International Relations, Law, Social, Political or Economic Sciences, Social Work, Migration or Development Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
- High School diploma, with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Working experience in the migration sectors, with a particular focus on vulnerable migrants;
- Demonstrated experience in supporting coordination with institutional stakeholders, local authorities and territorial service providers, particularly in the field of migration, is highly desirable.
- Previous working experience in AVRR counselling is considered an asset.

Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in Italian and English is required (oral and written).
Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
