Organizational Context and Scope
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Migration Agency, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non‑governmental partners. IOM promotes the orderly and humane management of migration, advances international cooperation on migration issues, supports practical solutions to emerging challenges, and provides humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including internally displaced person.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or,
- High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience coordinating with implementing partners, local authorities, and community-based organizations to support the implementation of humanitarian programmes and ensure effective operational coordination.
- Experience using monitoring tools and information management systems, as well as knowledge of the Venezuelan context, particularly border areas and human mobility dynamics, to support project implementation and decision-making.
- Experience contributing to the preparation of narrative and financial reports for donors, supporting donor reporting processes, calls for proposals, and project cycle management, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Previous experience working with IOM, the United Nations, or other international humanitarian organizations, with knowledge of humanitarian principles, operational procedures, and coordination mechanisms.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in spanish is required (oral and written).
Desirable: Working knowledge of English.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
