Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of the Senior Protection Associate, the Project Associate – Transition Support will be responsible and accountable supporting the requirements of the project by assisting Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) in IOM Ireland.
This role will focus on supporting BOTPs through periods of transition by providing accurate information, guidance and individualised assistance tailored to their circumstances. The role will also support beneficiaries to understand available options, access relevant services and address barriers affecting their pathway towards greater independence and stability. The role will include other programme-related responsibilities as required.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarise, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Support with the development and implementation of the Transition Support strategy by conducting research, gathering and analysing relevant information, identifying needs, barriers and service gaps affecting BOTP and providing input to the supervisor.
- Maintain and develop referral pathways and information mapping of stakeholders by identifying relevant service providers and available services, documenting referral procedures and eligibility requirements, liaising with relevant stakeholders to validate information, and ensuring that referral and service information remains accurate, current and accessible to support the objective of the project.
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organisational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions to address delivery gaps.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organise meetings, workshops and training sessions;
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Assist in monitoring work of Implementing Partners (IP) and report non-compliances to the supervisor.
- Perform such other relevant duties as maybe assigned.
Education
- TO Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or,
- High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations is an advantage.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
- Knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and;
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming is an advantage.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
