The temporary position is located within the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). Pursuant to Security Council resolution 2793 (2025), UNSOH has been mandated to provide support; primarily to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), the Haitian National Police (HNP), and the Haitian Armed Forces in the context of any joint operations with the GSF. Additionally, UNSOH is tasked with delivering technical assistance to the Organization of American States (OAS).
Under the overall supervision of the Chief Supply Chain Management Service and under the direct supervision of the Chief Centralized Warehouse Section, the Receiving and Inspection Assistant (R&I) is responsible for the physical entry, quality control, and system registration of all incoming assets, equipment, and commodities within in the Mission. The temporary position is based in Port au Prince and is located in the Centralised Warehouse Section, and reports to the Chief of Section, Centeralised Warehouse.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Receiving & Inspection Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
Manages the receiving and inspection of all incoming consignments; verifies quantity, specification and condition against the purchase order, contract and accompanying documentation.
Liaising with the Movement Control (MOVCON) and Transport Units to track the arrival schedules of mission cargo, commercial vendor deliveries, and inter-mission transfers.
Conducts and oversees quality and quantity inspection; identifies, documents and reports discrepancies, shortages, surpluses and damage; manages rejections and supports claims.
Processes receiving and inspection reports and goods receipt in Umoja within target timelines; certifying receipt within delegated authority.
Provides receipt and performance evidence to support contract-performance evaluation by Procurement and Acquisition.
Maintains the audit trail and internal-control discipline of the goods-in process; supervises and develops Unit staff.
Performs other duties as requested by his/her supervisor.

Education
High School or equivalent diploma is required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of property management, inventory control, logistics management or related field is required. Experience providing services to or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable. Experience in an ERP database administration is desirable
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required. French is desirable. This position is temporarily available. An appointment may be terminated, or post level adjusted in accordance with the Staff Rules for such reasons as abolition of post or reduction of staff or committee funding approvals, for example in the event that the funding for the post is not approved or the mandate of the mission is not extended. United Nations Considerations
