Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in the Netherlands and the direct supervision of the Head of the ERCOM Unit, the Senior Project Associate (Institutional Donor Engagement ) acts as the focal point supporting the Mission’s engagement with institutional donors. The position supports donor relations, resource mobilization and stewardship activities, contributing to continuity, coordination and alignment with IOM corporate fundraising frameworks. The role plays a key support function in the implementation of the Mission’s fundraising strategy, coordination of donor engagement activities, and management of donor intelligence and institutional memory, in close coordination with SRO Brussels, RO Vienna and Headquarters.
- Act as focal point supporting institutional donor engagement for IOM Netherlands, in close coordination with the Chief of Mission and ERCOM Unit.
- Serve as national COMPASS focal point, supporting donor coordination, briefings, reporting follow-up and visibility requirements.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the Mission’s fundraising and donor engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate the preparation and organization of donor meetings, briefings and high-level donor visits, including agendas, briefing notes and follow-up actions.
- Act as GRMN focal point for IOM Netherlands, supporting alignment with corporate resource mobilization processes and reporting.
- Serve as CRM focal point, supporting accurate and systematic donor data entry, tracking and maintenance of institutional memory.
- Provide inputs to donor updates, briefing notes, concept notes and tailored engagement materials.
- Support coordination with SRO Brussels, RO Vienna and Headquarters on donor engagement, funding opportunities and reporting requirements.
- Monitor institutional donor priorities, funding trends and risks relevant to IOM Netherlands.
- Maintain documentation and reporting of donor engagement activities and contacts.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in donor relations, fundraising, external relations or institutional partnerships.
- Experience coordinating donor engagement, reporting or resource mobilization processes is an asset.
- Previous experience in an international organization, UN agency or governmental context is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong drafting, coordination and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple donor relationships and information flows.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and structured donor tracking is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English and Dutch is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of other IOM language (Spanish, French) is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
