Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in the Netherlands and the direct supervision of the Head of the ERCOM Unit, the Senior Project Associate (Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement) supports IOM Netherlands’ engagement with private sector partners, academic institutions, and contributes to strengthening partnerships, visibility and resource mobilisation activities. The position also supports the promotion of IOM’s mandate and operational added value at the national level, in alignment with relevant national and EU migration and asylum policy frameworks.
2.Assist in maintaining partnerships with private sector actors, including through preparation of background notes, briefing materials and engagement plans.
3.Contribute to the identification of joint initiatives, pilot activities and funding opportunities with private sector partners aligned with IOM’s mandate.
4.Support the organization of private sector engagement activities, such as roundtables, networking events, donor briefings and partnership meetings.
5.In parallel, support IOM Netherlands’ institutional engagement with national counterparts active in the asylum and migration chain, including IND, DT&V and COA.
6.Support outreach, engagement and information-sharing activities towards political stakeholders, including parliamentarians, political parties and relevant parliamentary committees, in line with IOM’s mandate, and institutional positioning, including through the preparation of briefing notes, talking points and background materials.
7.Assist in maintaining regular liaison and structured dialogue with national authorities, contributing to preparation of briefing notes, talking points and background inputs for meetings.
8.Support IOM’s engagement related to the implementation of national and EU migration and asylum policies, including aspects linked to the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum and the EU Return Directive, with attention to operational relevance and consistency with IOM programming.
9.Contribute to tracking and providing inputs on policy, legislative and operational developments at national and EU level that may impact IOM activities, partnerships or engagement activities.
10.Provide inputs to concept notes, project proposals and amendments involving private sector or national institutional partners.
11.Contribute to the development of communication and visibility materials highlighting IOM’s mandate, partnerships and impact in the Netherlands.
12.Maintain stakeholder mapping, contact lists and engagement tracking tools related to private sector and national institutional partners.
13.Perform any other related duties as required.
Education
- High school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Economics, Development Studies, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience working with private sector actors, foundations, donors or business networks.
- Experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, fundraising or innovative financing is an asset.
- Previous experience in an international, UN or development/humanitarian organization is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong coordination, drafting and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
- Understanding of the Dutch private sector and innovation ecosystem.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English and Dutch is required (oral and written).
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
