Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer (Regular Pathways & Socioeconomic Integration), this position is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of activities related to social integration, housing assistance, non-food item (NFI) distribution and food assistance for IOM beneficiaries in Guyana. The incumbent works closely with local authorities, implementing partners and community stakeholders to strengthen coordination and service delivery when it comes to housing, Food and non-food distribution and integration in the local community.
- Support individualized case management and referral follow-up for migrants, ensuring timely needs assessment, documentation, coordination with relevant service providers, tracking of assistance provided, and regular follow-up to support access to services and progress toward integration outcomes.
- Assist in the design, planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of activities related to social integration, housing, NFI and food assistance, ensuring alignment with program objectives and humanitarian standards.
- Compile, analyze and present data on beneficiary needs, vulnerabilities, and assistance provided (e.g., housing conditions, NFI distribution, food security, and integration outcomes), highlighting trends and gaps to inform decision-making.
- Ensure that all housing, food, NFI and social integration interventions are implemented in accordance with IOM protection principles, safeguarding standards, PSEA requirements and data protection policies.
- Monitor project expenditures related to housing, NFI, food assistance and social integration activities, identify variances and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with budget allocations and donor requirements.
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft regular activity and status reports on housing interventions, distributions (NFI/food), and social integration activities; identify implementation gaps and recommend corrective measures.
- Prepare technical and operational documentation including beneficiary reports, distribution tracking tools, housing assessments, briefing notes, and statistical summaries related to assistance provided.
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Provide guidance and technical support to staff involved in distributions, housing assessments, and integration programming; assist in coordinating team activities and may supervise field staff as assigned.
- Provides guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit; may supervise other staff as assigned.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or
- High School diploma with six years of relevant professional experience
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Experience coordinating housing, shelter, food security, NFI or community-based assistance programmes.
- Experience in data management, beneficiary tracking systems and donor reporting.

Languages
