TERMS OF REFERENCE
Under the supervision of the Regional Director of ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and in close coordination with relevant ITU Regional Office for Asia focal points, the intern will contribute to:
• Capacity building support:
- Assisting in the design and delivery of training programmes and workshops.- Supporting ITU Academy platform in terms of training course setup, responding to participant inquiries about courses, technical issues, or certification processes.- Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of related initiatives.- Ensuring capacity development is integrated into projects and activities to foster synergies and continuous learning.• Research and data analysis:
- Drafting and editing reports, briefings, and documents; refining/adding executive summaries, concisely highlighting key findings.- Analysis of participants’ feedback through the ITU Academy end of training surveys to identify and propose targeted improvements.- Track key metrics and analyse training participant data (e.g., registrations, completion rates, satisfaction rates) to generate performance reports and recommendations.- Preparing graphic-rich, high-quality PowerPoint presentations.- Carrying out research in support of current projects and activities.• Coordination and Outreach :
- Assisting with setup and deployment of training modules, webinars, workshops.- Participate in the coordinatation with relevant stakeholders (course coordinators and instructors) to ensure timely submission of training materials and set up of course pages.- Assisting in taking meeting minutes.- Supporting stakeholder engagement and outreach to partners involved in capacity building, ensuring synergies across initiatives and activities.
COMPETENCIES
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written; Teamwork and Collaboration; Client and Service Orientation; and Organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office; PowerPoint; Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Premiere Pro an asset). Knowledge of ICT industry and tech media an asset.
- Knowledge of web management systems (such as Drupal)and Learning Management Systems (such as Moodle) are considered an advantage.
- Excellent research, analysis and summarizing skills.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
Education: University degree in progress in relevant fields OR education in a reputed college of advanced education with a diploma of equivalent standard to that of an university degree in international relations, international development, international law, computer science, cybersecurity, or other relevant programs.
Experience: No work experience is required
Languages: English at advanced level.

The intern will acquire excellent knowledge and experience of:
• Fundamental administrative and technical skills in project management, research, and stakeholder engagement, with emphasis on capacity building and development.• Analyzing problems and organizing information, identify concerns, and devising effective solutions that contribute to sustainable capacity development and knowledge transfer.• Attending workshops, orientations, and training programmes to facilitate knowledge building of the intern on the programme assigned.• Engaging in discussion, organisation, management and evaluation of initiatives and activities under the programme assigned throughout the planning, implementation, and post-implementation phases, ensuring that capacity development and learning synergies are embedded at each stage.• Documenting lessons learned and best practices from training programmes, workshops, and projects, and contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance capacity development.
Please note that a non-remunerated internship at ITU does not carry the same conditions of employment as a short-term or fixed-term position. Medical insurance, travel, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution.
ITU Internship Requirements
To be eligible for an internship at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), candidates must:• Be under 30 years of age (Exceptions may be considered for candidates pursuing a Ph.D.).• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate programme, or be a recent graduate(within six months prior to the start of the internship).• Be a citizen of a Member State of ITU.
