TERMS OF REFERENCE
Within the ITU Gender and Youth Office, under the supervision of the Associate Youth programme Officer, the intern will:
- Participate in the ITU’s meaningful youth engagement work with and for young people globally.
- Assist in the implementation of the ITU Youth Strategy, particularly through the ITU Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Board, the ITU Young Professionals Programme, the ITU Reverse Mentoring Initiative and ITU Youth Leadership activities.
- Support the drafting and updating of reports, briefing notes, and other written materials youth matters for internal and external audiences.
- Support ITU’s youth communications and community building efforts, to amplify ITU’s engagement with global youth through ITU social media and the ITU Future Innovators Podcast.

Teamwork and Collaboration: Able to work independently and also collaboratively to achieve team objectives.
Planning and Organizing: Able to plan ahead, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage time effectively.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
Education: University degree in any relevant field.
Experience: No work experience required.
Languages: English at advanced level.
REMUNERATION INFORMATION
Unpaid Internship.
Please note that a non-remunerated Internship position at ITU does not carry the same conditions of employment as a Short-term or a Fixed-term position. Mandatory Medical Insurance, travel expenses,accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of the interns or sponsoring institutions.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
To be eligible for an internship at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), candidates must:
• Be under 30 years of age (Exceptions may be considered for candidates pursuing a Ph.D.).
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate programme, or be a recent graduate(withinsix months prior to the start of the internship).
• Be a citizen of a Member State of ITU.
