The Position
The Visual Communications Officer will be based at UNFPA Dhaka Country Office and will support the Communications Team in managing the digital communication portfolio, such as overseeing, writing and posting on social media, website and other digital platforms. The incumbent will also support the content development and production of overall visual communications products for the Country Office, including the sub-office in Cox’s Bazar. The Visual Communications Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of Communication.

Job Purpose
The Visual Communications Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of Communication in close collaboration with communication team members at the country, regional and HQ levels, as well as programme teams to ensure consistent and high quality communication products on sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender, adolescent and youth, humanitarian response and population and development.
The Officer will also assist in designing and finalising other advocacy and communication products such as fact sheets, reports, explainers, etc. S/he will contribute to event planning and donor communications. The Visual Communications Officer is expected to travel to the UNFPA supported districts as necessary.
You would be responsible for
- Produce videos, photos, cards for social media platforms and to distribute to local and international media;
- Update social media with daily content and website with regular content in consultation with programme teams (for content);
- Support with CO campaign initiatives;
- Support the UN Communications Group in organizing UN events and digital campaigns;
- Design culturally relevant advocacy and communication digital and print products in Bangla and English;
- Take photos and videos during donor visits, events, and activities;
- Monitor the performance of the Country Office website and social media platforms; prepare periodic analytics reports and recommend practical measures to improve reach, follower growth and engagement, for review by the supervisor.
- Document best practices to promote knowledge sharing within UNFPA, implementing partners, donors, and other stakeholders;
- Perform other duties as required.
Education
Minimum completion of secondary education is required. A bachelor’s degree in Development Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is desirable.
Knowledge and Experience
- 7 years of experience in developing audio-visual communication products;
- Knowledge and experience in the field of digital communications, web-page publishing, and social media management;
- Excellent photo and video production skills, including special effects, and graphic design;
- Experience working in a multicultural and web-based environment;
- Demonstrated team player in an international environment;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Bangla is required;
- Knowledge and expertise of UNFPA mandate areas is a distinct advantage.
- Previous working experience in the development sector is an asset.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Bangla is required. Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits
