The ongoing Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in DRC poses a significant cross-border risk to Rwanda. UNICEF Rwanda, in line with the Government-led preparedness approach, is supporting national efforts to strengthen Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and infection prevention and control (IPC) systems to prevent and respond to a potential outbreak. Current priorities include strengthening IPC in healthcare facilities, scaling up WASH services, enhancing community-based preparedness, and ensuring continuity of essential services. To support these efforts, UNICEF plans to engage an experienced individual consultant to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health (MoH)/Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), line government agencies and partners at the national and sub-nationals in strengthening WASH and IPC preparedness, prevention, and response capacities for EVD.
