TERMS OF REFERENCE
Under the general guidance of the Child Protection Specialist, the consultant will provide technical support to the Government to strengthen national child protection systems, with a focus on parenting programmes, advancing the violence against children agenda, including in online settings, and strengthening sector-wide coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Parenting Programme
- Child Protection Sector Coordination
- Documentation of good practices
- Partnership and Donor Relations
Education
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in: Social Sciences, International Relations, International Development, Political Science, or another relevant technical field.
Work Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in supporting Government to design and implement child protection programmes and to coordinate their implementation
- A minimum of 8 years of child protection professional work experience is required.
Language Requirements
- Excellent writing and oral communication in English and Swahili.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills
- Demonstrated work experience in child protection system strengthening
- Demonstrated knowledge in violence against children and key interventions including parenting programme and workforce development.
- Experience in working with government personnel at policy decision level
- Experience in donor relations.
Desirables
- Familiarity with public finance for children, coordination and care reform.
