Organizational Background
WFP Lebanon provides cash assistance to Syrian refugees and in-kind assistance to vulnerable Lebanese, while supporting the Government in strengthening social safety nets. WFP supports resilience-building activities, and its school meals programme improves nutrition and school attendance. Since October 2023, WFP has provided food and cash assistance to people affected by the conflict and has scaled up its food assistance including the distribution of daily meals following the recent escalation.

Job Purpose
To implement well-defined standard logistics and supply chain processes and activities to enable the effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities, including supporting the planning, coordination, dispatch, monitoring, and reporting of convoy operations to hard-to-reach areas, ensuring efficient resource allocation, compliance with safety and operational standards, and timely delivery of cargo from point of discharge to final destinations in support of WFP and Logistics Cluster operations.
Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive)
Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Logistics Cluster Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Provide support to logistics operations and activities, following standard processes and facilitating, directly or indirectly, the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries.
2. Support timely ordering and delivery of commodities and supplies to authorised partners and destinations.
3. Support management of logistics vendors’ contracting activities including performance monitoring and measurement.
4. Respond to a variety of technical queries/requests for support, following standard processes, and obtaining guidance as required, to ensure timely and accurate resolution of all enquiries with a high standard of client service mind-set.
5. Contribute to budget preparation, monitoring and revision for all delivery modalities, ensuring adherence to relevant procedures and in compliance with corporate standards.
6. Assist in monitoring inventory management processes to track trends and account for the inventory status from source to beneficiary.
7. Assist in management of commodity accounting data quality and integrity.
8. Support operational pipeline analyses, assessments and operational planning for all delivery modalities.
9. Process documentation for execution of logistics operations (e.g. customs clearance, invoice verification), take appropriate actions to resolve operational issues escalating various issues to the supervisor.
10. Collect and compile data, produce and/or contribute to reports (e.g. CCTI, SPRs, financial closure, physical inventory, transport performance) and ensure information accuracy in corporate systems in support to informed decision-making.
11. Liaise with internal and limited number of external stakeholders to support efficient logistics operations management.
12. Provide guidance to other support staff, in order to assist them in completing standard tasks to agreed standards and deadlines.
13. Perform other related duties, as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experiences for entry into the role
- Effective communication and coordination abilities: Skilled in liaising with transport companies.
- Coordination of logistics cargo dispatched and related documentation
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management
- Ability to understand complexities of emergency logistics, particularly last-mile
- Incident management and risk mitigation skills: Ability to respond to cargo damage or delays, document incidents, and escalate appropriately.
Desired Experiences for entry into the role
- Experience with logistics systems: Proficiency in corporate systems for dispatch tracking and reporting.
- Emergency preparedness and contingency planning: experience with emergency transport planning and risk analysis.
- Data management and reporting proficiency: Skilled in compiling dispatch reports, statistics, and transport performance analyses.
- Technical proficiency in MS Office and Excel: For preparing reports, monitoring budgets, and analyzing operational data.
