TERMS OF REFERENCE
UNICEF Iraq is seeking a qualified national consultant to support the collection and analysis of data through the Teenage Mothers Assessment in Iraq. The analysis will strengthen evidence-based programming and policy dialogue related to vulnerable adolescent mothers. The consultant will be responsible for conducting comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis of the collected assessment data, identifying key findings, trends, vulnerabilities, and service gaps affecting teenage mothers.
Education
- Advanced university degree (Masters) in Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, Economics, Data Analysis, Research Methodology, or a related field.
- Solid hands-on experience and a proven professional track record in data analysis, research, assessment studies, and report writing may be accepted in lieu of an advanced academic qualification.
Work Experience
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, research, assessments, social policy, or evidence generation related to vulnerable populations, adolescents, or social protection programmes.
- Previous working experience with government institutions, NGOs, UNICEF, UN agencies, or other international organizations would be an asset.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills
- Good knowledge of computer applications, including statistical and data analysis software such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, report writing, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings to different audiences in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience in conducting trainings and capacity-building activities for government counterparts or development partners, particularly on data collection, analysis, and evidence utilization.
- Proven experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis, developing analytical reports, and translating assessment findings into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience in designing or supporting surveys and digital data collection tools, including experience with KoBo Toolbox or similar platforms, is highly desirable.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English, and Arabic (written and spoken).
Desirables
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment and respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Knowledge of the social protection system, adolescent-related issues, and government institutional frameworks in Iraq is considered an asset.
