How can you make a difference?
The Nutrition Officer will support the program planning, implementation coordination, monitoring and reporting of UNICEF’s nutrition programming in Manila. Reporting to the Nutrition Specialist, the Nutrition Officer will implement a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results. The incumbent will ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of nutrition programming and achieve concrete and sustainable results in maternal and child nutrition. He/she will also support regular review of project plans and adjustment in the case of public health emergencies and the recurring human-induced and natural hazard-caused calamities in preparation for the new cycle of the Country Programme in the Philippines.

Minimum requirements
- Maternal and child nutrition, public health, or health and nutrition programme implementation.
- Planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of nutrition and programmes and projects.
- Nutrition data and information management, including data quality assurance (DQA), analysis, and use of routine information systems to support programme decision-making.
- Providing technical and operational support to government counterparts and coordinating with development partners and stakeholders at national and/or subnational levels.
- Strong programme management skills across the programme cycle, including planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and coordination.
- Demonstrated skills in nutrition data management, data quality assurance (DQA), data analysis, and use of routine health and nutrition information systems (e.g., FHSIS, OPT).
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with government and partners.
- Ability to identify implementation bottlenecks, propose practical solutions, and support delivery of programme results.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and report-writing skills.
Desirables
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- Familiarity with national health and nutrition information systems, including FHSIS – Field Health Services Information System, OPT - Operation Timbang Plus, PIMAM - Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition, maternal nutrition, IYCF - Infant and Young Child Feeding, micronutrient supplementation or community nutrition programmes.
- Experience working with government institutions, local government units (LGUs), development partners, or UN agencies.
- Experience in nutrition emergency preparedness, response, or resilience programming.
- Knowledge of the Philippine health and nutrition system is an advantage.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
