Join UNICEF Ecuador programme team to support implementation, monitoring, partnerships, and evidence-based decision-making. The position contributes to strengthening territorial interventions and improving results for children and vulnerable communities through effective programme management and stakeholder engagement.
The Programme Officer will provide professional technical assistance and support for programme design, planning and implementation, management and evaluation of programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, in support of programme goals and objectives.

Desirables
- Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian).
- Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
- A minimum of one year of experience in direct territorial work with rural or indigenous communities, or in contexts of high social vulnerability, with emphasis on the implementation of social, public health, or community development interventions is desirable.
- A minimum of one year of experience in monitoring territorial interventions or programmes, including oversight of implementing partners, analysis of progress indicators, preparation of technical reports, and formulation of operational recommendations is an asset.
- Proven experience in the design, piloting, or transfer of methodologies for territorial implementation is considered an asset, including participatory diagnostic tools, continuous improvement approaches, capacity-building of local actors, or intersectoral coordination mechanisms is an asset.
- Background/familiarity with emergency is considered as an asset
- Previous experience working on related thematic areas within a United Nations agency or directly with UNICEF is considered a significant differentiating asset.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
